Born in Philadelphia, PA on Aug. 3, 1915, Lillian spent most of her life there, moving to Siesta Key in the mid 1980’s.
She is survived by her sons, Neil and Alan (Peggy), grandchildren, Stephanie Sklodowski (Chris) and Gregory Evantash (Brandy), great-grandchildren, Jacob Sklodowski, Benjamin Sklodowski, Lyndzy Evantash and Elijah Evantash.
Lillian served thirty years as a teacher/ consultant in the disciplines of reading and math in the School District of Philadelphia, having earned her BS and Master’s Degrees in Education at St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. She was a member of Educators’ Chapter Bnai Brith, Philadelphia, and SaBra Chapter Hadassah in Sarasota, where she held positions of secretary, treasurer and columnist for the monthly publication, Kol Bat Ami. SaBra had honored her with the Hadassah Love-of-Lifetime award. She also served as a tutor for the Sarasota School District, and volunteer at the Sarasota Manatee Jewish Federation.
Her pleasures included piano, crafts, gardening, art, poetry and Spanish literature.
