Linda Helena Maguire

She was born on June 13, 1952, to William Eugene Pitman and Kathryn Moran Pitman in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Linda attended Simmons College in Boston and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Library Science, the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and graduated Phi Beta Kappa Magna cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.

She married Joseph Thomas Maguire, Jr on October 19,1974 and they had 2 children, Kathryn Dawn Maguire Medrano and Joseph Thomas Maguire, III. She worked as a corporate librarian and tenured math teacher.

She enjoyed spending time with her family playing Wordle, trivia and board games, gardening, golfing, sailing, cooking and decorating. She loved sitting in the lanai and observing birds in our preserve.

She was strong, intelligent, honest, loyal, and extremely logical. There are givers and takers, and she was a giver and full of Finnish sisu.

Linda is survived by her husband Joseph Thomas Maguire, Jr, children Kathryn Dawn Maguire Medrano and Joseph Thomas Maguire, III, grandchildren Joseph Thomas Maguire, IV, Eugene Leon Maguire, Antonio Joseph Maguire Medrano and Sophia Kayla Maguire, brother William Michael Pitman and twin sister Leah Tyne Nicolopoulos.

She was preceded in death by her parents William Eugene Pitman and Kathryn Moran Pitman.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 11, 2024, Gathering 11:30 am -1 pm, Service 1 pm - 1:30 pm, Reception 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm at Robert Toale and Sons Funeral Home at Palms Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave, Sarasota, Florida.
