She graduated from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio on June 7, 1974 with a B.S. in Education, and the National Louis University in Chicago, Illinois on March 31, 2010 with her Master of Education.
Marcy was married to Michael J. Kennelly on May 29, 1977.
She had a career in teaching for the Peoria School District, Catholic schools, Sarasota County Schools and most recently Tuttle Elementary School in Sarasota, Florida.
She was a member of the OSU Alumni Club. She enjoyed children, reading, anything Ohio State, but most importantly her family.
Preceded in death by her sister, Maris Freed, Marcy is survived by her loving husband, Michael Kennelly; children, Matthew Kennelly (Lindsey) and Scott Kennelly (Leah); grandchildren, Iila Blu Kennelly, David Zangwill Kennelly, Caroline Bartley Kennelly; and her sisters, Susan Freed Sternfield of Chicago, Illinois, and Joan Freed Kuchel of Missoula, Montana.
Service for Marcy will be held on December 21, 2025 at 1:30 pm at Temple Emanu-El, 151 McIntosh Rd, Sarasota, FL 34232.
