Margaret Lucille Pasella

Margaret was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1929. She discovered her love for music at a young age and learned to play the piano first by ear and then as a student. She attended college and earned her Master’s degree in music at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas where she also met her husband Mario.

After they married in 1953, they moved to Los Angeles, California where she was a music teacher at Paul Revere Junior High School in the Los Angeles School System. She was loved by all of her students and leaves behind a large and loving circle of former students, colleagues, neighbors and friends, many of whom credit her with changing the course of their lives through music.

She and Mario enjoyed traveling throughout Europe during the summers and spent most of their time in Italy visiting Mario’s parents in his native country. Consequently, Margaret became fluent in Italian and spoke Mario’s native language with great poise and elegance. When they retired from the Los Angeles School System, they moved to Woodinville, WA to be near family and spent 20 years living there, still traveling back and forth to Italy. In 2012, Margaret and Mario moved to Sarasota, Florida to be near their other nieces and nephews and the warm weather.

Margaret played the piano up until the last few months. She often was asked to play by her fellow residents at Aviva. She sang and played the piano daily with a love for all genres of music.

Margaret is predeceased by her parents Jakie and Lucille, her husband Mario, sisters Shirley and Marilyn and nieces. She is survived by multiple nieces and nephews.

She will be missed by many and remembered for her kind nature, positive outlook on life and a genuine concern for mankind and animals.

Graveside services will be held at the Sarasota National Cemetery on June 30, 2025 at 11:30 am.
