Miriam Betancourt was born to Alfredo Betancourt and Alejandria Vazquez-Santiago on August 3, 1960 in Loiza also known as Canóvanas, Puerto Rico and was called home to the lord on June 25, 2021 in Bradenton, Florida. After leaving Puerto Rico in her early 20's, Miriam resided in New York, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts before ultimately settling in Sunny Sarasota/Bradenton. Miriam was a Certified Nursing Assistant and dedicated over 25 years of service to Nursing Homes and Private Care.
Miriam was married to a humble man of God, Jorge Febo in 2013, who she had known since High School in their hometown in Puerto Rico. Miriam had three beautiful children: Marilyn Marcano, Jimmy Marcano and Neidylin Morales-Vega. She was always proud to introduce her children to anyone and would beam ear to ear when she talked about any of them. Miriam also had five beautiful grandchildren: Marianne-Lynn Williams, Aaliyah Maire Williams, Nicholas Williams who all recently graduated High School and made her very proud. Her youngest grandchildren Ryan Xavier Vega and Amarilys Rose Vega always kept Miriam on her toes as she enjoyed playing and running around with them. Miriam had a heart of gold and she always took obstacles headon. As the root of our family she was able to move mountains and when asked how she overcame the impossible she would simply say "just put your faith in God". Miriam was the rock and glue of our family and you could always expect some of her most delicious home cooked meals every holiday. One of Miriam's favorite things to do was playing music and instruments for God, especially the congas. She inherited the love for music from her father. Miriam was a passionate, strong, vibrant woman whose presence was felt in any room she walked into. Even after her passing she continues to touch many lives; Miriam was an organ donor and saved three lives! If Miriam could leave us today with one last message it would be: "stay united, go to church, seek and see God in all things because he makes no mistakes".
