

Mort attended The City College of New York earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1955, and continued his education at The City College of New York, earning a Master’s in Civil Engineering in 1957. He had a career as a Marketing Manager with the IBM Corporation for over 30 years and achieved the rank of Captain in the U.S. Public Health Service. As a consultant he created a seminar, “Computing for the Terrified,” to introduce computers in a simple and understandable way.
His achievements include being on the team that brought the IBM Personal Computer to market and he more recently served on the Board of Directors for The Venice Golf & Country Club, and the Advisory Council for the Jacaranda Trace Community. Mort was an avid photographer, an adventurous storyteller and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed golf, tennis and fixing things. Mort was a loving husband to Linda with whom he shared 50 adventurous years. He was devoted to his family, a loyal friend and a long-suffering NY Giants football fan.
Mort was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Bonnie Sinclair; and brother, George Lewis.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Sinkoff; son, Steven Sinkoff (Lisa Portnoff); daughters, Kirsten Lofgren (Peter Sanchez), Valerie Voutsas (Stephen Voutsas), and Alyssa Bickler (Michael Consentino); and grandchildren, Kyle Sinkoff, Jamie Davis, Alexandra Guelzow, Leo Brooks Sinkoff, Reese Lofgren, Amanda Flashner, Micayla Flashner, Riley Lofgren.
