Robert Merker, 66, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Englewood, NJ passed away suddenly on August 23, 2012. A private graveside service will be held this Sunday August 26, 2012. A public memorial will be held in his honor at 11 am on Monday August 27, 2012 at Temple Sinai; 4631 Lockwood Ridge Road.
Bob (or Murry as close friends called him) was born in Englewood, NJ and attended the University of Cincinnati. He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine and his children; Jason and Danielle. Always a fighter, he overcame two bouts of cancer in 1992.
He and his family moved to Sarasota in 1993 to enjoy warm weather, golfing and
the gulf coast beaches. A 40-year vegetarian and an avid health buff, Bob relished in taking care of himself and those around him.
He will forever be remembered as a warm, loving, and kind man. All who knew him will miss him dearly. Contributions can be made in his memory to Temple Sinai at 4631 Lockwood Ridge Road.
