Born on May 13, 1939, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, Dr. Palls was a distinguished scholar and educator. She earned both her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Kansas, where her doctoral dissertation, The Theatre in Revolutionary Cuba: 1959–1969, reflected her lifelong passion for Latin American culture and literature.
A dedicated academic, Dr. Palls served for 37 years as a college professor before retiring as Associate Professor of Latin American Languages and Literature from New College. She was a Fulbright Scholar and widely respected for her contributions to her field.
Outside of her academic life, Dr. Palls embraced the outdoors and community life with vigor. She was a certified open water diver, an avid boater who docked at the Longboat Key Club Moorings for many years, and a devoted practitioner of daily yoga. She was also a loyal Friend of the Longboat Library.
Dr. Palls was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Thelma Louis, and her spouse, Dale M. Morrison.
