Aarron E. Olvera was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and raised in Chicago. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in History from Eastern Illinois University. He moved to Scottsdale, Arizona in 1998 and lived there until he passed. He is survived by his loving wife, Mairi, his mother and step-father, Lee and Rick Beyers, his sister, Kelaine, and many other beloved family and friends. Aarron and his father, Dennis, passed away during a backpacking trip in Utah on April 6, 2013.
Most recently, Aarron was an Account Executive at Insight Imaging in Phoenix, Arizona. Aarron spent his working career as a salesperson and had proven himself to be adept at selling / marketing / raising funds in a variety of fields. His motivation, dedication, and work ethic came through whether selling fine art in the Joy Tash Gallery, raising charitable donations for the American Heart Association, or marketing imaging services to Phoenix area physicians.
Aarron's motivation, dedication, and passion were evident in every part of his life. A devout Catholic, having converted as an adult, he shared his love of faith and God to all those who asked. His love of music, Notre Dame football, and adventure was evident in his everyday life.
He loved to seek out record stores looking for vintage and new vinyl whenever he could. He would be so thrilled to find a rare Led Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, Yes, Jimi Hendrix, or Pink Floyd album and bring them home to play on his "old school" record player with three foot speakers. While his first love was 70s music, he also loved the music of his youth: The Cure, Bauhaus, Richard Hell, Naked Raygun, Ween, Slint, Smashing Pumpkins, and Sonic Youth.
His loved watching and attending sports events from baseball, NFL football, and college football. His unwavering dedication for Notre Dame football started at a young age. He grew up rooting for the Fighting Irish and attending games when he could; most recently, attending the BCS Championship game against Alabama in Miami. While his team did not win, he loved being there so much, that at the end of the game he spent 15 minutes shaking hands with people walking out of his seating section in the stadium telling them, "Go Irish, thanks for coming, thanks for your support."
He loved to be spontaneous and loved traveling with his wife, Mairi. Their adventures started with a proposal in Balboa Park, San Diego, a legal marriage by Elvis in Vegas, a wedding ceremony on a boat down the River Thames in England, and a honeymoon in Paris, Rome and Venice and that was just the first year!
Their six years together included many adventures including: spending time with family in England and Scotland, a family wedding in Ireland, trips with family to Amsterdam, road trips to Vegas and Ruidoso, New Mexico, camping and hiking in Mesa Verde and Zion National Parks, hiking down to Phantom Ranch in the Grand Canyon and attending two Notre Dame bowl games - the Sun Bowl against Miami and the BCS Championship against Alabama.
He will be missed by all those who loved him. His absence leaves an emptiness that will never be filled.
