November 30th 1927 – April 3rd, 2020
Agnes “Jean” Hale, age 92, left this world to enter the Kingdom of God peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, April 3rd, 2020. Agnes was born to Luman Marie Goodson and Louis Pearl (Gillespie) Goodson in Troy, Virginia, and was the youngest daughter of eleven children.
At age thirteen, Agnes met the love of her life, Wilmer Earl Hale. They married on January 8th, 1946 while he was still serving in the United States Air Force (USAF) following World War II. In 1963, after 20 years of traveling and military life, her husband Earl retired from the USAF and they moved to Arizona for the remaining years of their lives. They had three children (Jeffrey, Priscilla, and Sandra), eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Agnes was a skilled seamstress and worked in an upholstery shop for a short time, but focused primarily on raising her family and assisting her husband with his business, Earl’s Appliance Service, until he retired in 1989.
She love sewing and crochet. Over the years. She handmade hundreds of items for underprivileged children, which were donated through Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry. Agnes was also a woman of faith, attended the Baptist Church for most of her life, and spend her last years studying the Bible with her family and watching services on television.
Agnes loved her family, and was always there to listen and provide understanding and support. She will be missed!!
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.greenacresmortuary.net for the Hale family.
