This is a poem the Lord gave me for Anna. She asked me to share it with those who view the guest book. 
          MY HERO

What makes a man a hero
Someone may chance to say.
A hero is the one who's there
When others walk away.

A hero's right beside you
Whether times are good or bad.
He's the one who laughs when you do
Or cries when you are sad.

A hero's not a perfect man.
Of that he would agree.
But one thing is for certain
He's the perfect man for me.

My hero did not plan to go.
He would have liked to stay.
But God called him home that night
To a land of perfect day.

My hero isn't really gone,
Though his face I cannot see.
I feel his loving presence.
I know he's watching over me.

My hero's waiting for me
At heaven's golden door
Where God wipes away all tears
And farewells are said no more.

What a wonderful man, he will be missed by many. We worked with him when he had the Stamp Company.
Several months ago he came is to visit while the Motor Home was being repaired. He talked about Anna and the job at the Grand Canyon, and of course being a School Bus Driver. He was always Happy, Loved Life and was a joy to be around.
We all have wonderful memories of him.

It was always a delight to have Art come by my desk at Wist Office Products to personally deliver the stamps that I had ordered for my customers.  He was such a kind man and took time to help us if we had questions about an order.  He was just at Wist a few months ago, catching up with those of us that he knew.  He seemed to be enjoying his retirement.  I know that he is at home with the Lord now, and that someday he will be one of the many people there to greet me when I arrive. My sympathies for his family.  When we arrive in the world, we are crying and everyone else is happy.  When we leave and arrive in Heaven , we are the ones happy and everyone else on earth is crying.

I had the honor of knowing Art when he worked at the stamp company. I will always remember his warm smile. He had a kind heart and a caring soul. I pray for healing for his family. He is in Gods loving arms

Mr. Harris was always one of my favorite people - he always had a smile and a friendly, kind word to share.  He will be missed!

We have known Art and Anna for many years.  We remember Art as loving his Anna, his family and his many friends.  We will miss Art and we pray for courage and strength for all of his family. Art and Anna were our neighbors in Province in Maricopa, and wonderful friends and church family.  Muffin and our "Lexi" were great friends too! Art was always ready to help anyway he could in any situation...a heart for people and children.  He loved driving the preschool bus as "Mr. Art"!  He loved singing with the "Province Barbershop" men's group, and we all loved him and Anna.  He will be missed greatly, but we know heaven is even more special with Art there. I was lucky enough to have worked with Art at MUSD20 when my husband Jeff and I lived in Az with our children.Art transported my son to and from school as well and I wanted to let you know that Art will be greatly missed.Your family is in my prayers.

One of the many reasons Art was so special to me was his loyalty and love for my sister, Anna. He was generous and considerate and kind to all of our family when we would get together. We will all miss his laughter and love and wonderful hospitality. 
   Rest in peace dear Art.

The future is never certain or absolute for any of us and as we discovered even the sturdiest of usâ€¦ come to the end.
Our Dad loved the outdoors and always did his best to involve himself in some form of scenery or hike or walk into a wonderful outdoor setting. He taught his kids a great adventure of camping, with tents, sleeping bags, propane lanterns and some form of MacGyver utensils. 
He was a Scout leader and took charge of the Boy Scouts Jamboree's at a moment's notice and just loved it weather he has distracters or followers, for the most part we had great memorable ideas. (Even with the few elite persons who thought there were being attacked by centipede's in there sleeping bags!) 
He was a professional Snipe hunter and could lay out some of the best traps and plots for all involved! Even after you realized you had been seriously duped, you knew this was the work of a serious professional!! Once you figured out that you were the victim of a prank and came wondering back to the camp fire, of course the ensuing laughter with (at) youâ€¦ break out the smores!! Yea!
He loved baseball and taught me (Tim) almost everything I know of the game, he was my coach for the first 6 years of my lustrous baseball career, till I was 15 and then handed me off to someone he felt could take me to a much higher level, which they did.
He was serious about his job and extremely dedicated to the cause and mission of the company. I am sure he had some times he thought it was time to move on, but he stayed. He worked for the same company for 30 years and became the manager of his branch in Phoenix and just pushed the company to improve and improve. As the nature of most stamp and sign businesses have limits and the technology of the digital age brought an end to Arizona Stamp. He moved on after a thank you from the owners, a gold watch, a small severance package, the sold the business to a conglomerate corporate company.
He did different work jobs and landed at a school bus job and seem to enjoy his time there, then one day received a referral to a position at the Grand Canyon National Park as a tour bus driver. Interviewed and was awarded the position, like most jobs it had a 90 trial period just to make sure they did not hire a crazy person. This was a homerun for Dad! He was back in the middle of nature and gave him a job he loved, the position was from Feb/March to November time frame which gave him & mom the winter off to travel and enjoy a few months off!
