

Barbara Kay Minn (née Andrews), 83, of Tempe, Arizona, passed peacefully on January 7, 2012, after a short illness. She was born April 29, 1928 in Joliet, Illinois, the daughter of Leland and Cora Andrews and grew up in Auburn, Illinois. Her daughter, Kay Rogers, granddaughter Ashlee Taylor, sister-in-law, Mary Ann Andrews, and nephews Terry and Robert Andrews and their families, survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Alex (“Al”), her son, Alex Lee, and her brother Robert Leland Andrews.
The Minn family relocated to Tempe in 1976 and Barbara retired in Arizona after her long service to the United States Government Office of Housing and Urban Development. She was a great animal lover, and will be dearly missed by her dog, Harvey. Her family wishes to acknowledge and thank Johnny Curry and his family members Kimberly, Asia and Robert who have been caring and compassionate neighbors during Barbara’s later years.
Her family is hosting a celebration of Barbara’s life on Saturday, January 14, from 4:30 – 6:30 PM at Monti’s La Casa Vieja Steakhouse in Tempe. A private interment service will be held later this week at the Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery in Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s name to the Arizona Humane Society or Feed the Children.
