Smith, Bessie Jean, 98, passed on September 24, 2011, in Cottonwood, Arizona. She was born on August 8, 1913, in Saybrook, Illinois, to parents Robert and Delia (Hodges) Custer. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She is preceded by her parents and her husband Kermit H. Smith. She is survived by daughters Nancy Kyle and Maryanne Owens, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 AM October 8, 2011,at Green Acres Memorial Park, 401 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ, 85257.
