

David was born on February 12, 1939 in Buffalo Minnesota. He graduated from Buffalo high school and attended Dunwoody Technical school to become an auto mechanic. Upon graduating from Dunwoody, he moved to Wayzata, MN and started his auto mechanic career at Village Chevrolet. After 10 years of working at Village Chevrolet, he went into business for himself and opened up a Union 76 service station in Wayzata. He was a great business owner and respected throughout the community. When he sold the business in 1980, he worked for a Datsun dealer f and then in 1981 moved to Arizona.
He liked to spend Sunday afternoons watching the MN Vikings and was an avid fan. He enjoyed hunting, waterskiing, camping and loved taking naps while wearing his famous "yellow" sweatshirt. When he retired from auto mechanics in 2004, he spent most of his time in his garden. He could grow anything in the desert clay of Arizona. He had the most productive garden in the valley. He also loved to can vegetables, bake pies and even dabbled in blackberry wine making.
David is survived by his wife, Judy Krause, daughters Dawn (Owen) Thoennes, Tamera Krause (Keith Hyink), son Kurt (Susan) Krause; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Anna Krause (nee Klatt), Sherryl Krause, sisters Myrtle, Margaret, Beatrice, Dorothy and Jean, brothers William and Harold, brother in laws, Wayne, Kenny, Wendell and Jerome, niece Kathy Pfeiffer, nephew Bob Hoffman.
Funeral will be held at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery, 401 Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ on October 27,2025, with visitation at 10 am and service at 11 am. Reception following the service will be at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 2085 E. Southern Ave, Tempe, AZ.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Ruud Fund at King of Glory Church.
