Donald lived in Arizona since 1974 and grew up in Tempe. He graduated from Marcos de Niza High School and later worked in various national parks such as Glacier National Park in Montana, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona; Yosemite National Park, California; and Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. He liked to read books and truly loved his cat, Sheba.
He is survived by his father, Stephen P. Metzger; sister, Theresa (Robert) O'Connor; brother, Stephen Trippi Metzger; niece, Cassidi (Dalvin) Gabriel; and uncle, Marshall Skellie Metzger.
Donald is preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Trippi Metzger; his grandparents: Ruth and Donald Metzger, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony and Josephine Trippi; and numerous aunts and uncles.
