Eleanor (Ellie) was born and raised in Winslow, Arizona. She was born to Felix and Helen Coin, and attended Winslow grade schools, graduating from Winslow High School in 1965. She went on to attend and graduate from Lamson's Business College in Phoenix. Ellie was employed by the State of Arizona, but spent the majority of her employment years at Arizona Public Service. Along the way, she met and married the love of her life, Harold (Bobby) Bandeka. They lived their lives in Tempe, AZ. Once she and her husband retired, they enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, travelling, and just having the time of their lives. Ellie's faith in the Lord was very strong. She was a devoted member of the College View Baptist Church, and was active in the Women's bible study. She was also strong in her Hopi religious and cultural beliefs, which she practiced throughout her life. After her husband passed away, she found joy in crafting, puzzles, watching her Hallmark movies and her beloved Phoenix Suns. She never missed a game. She also loved to dance and play the slots. Her most cherished moments were spending time with family with frequent trips to Northern Arizona and dinners in the Valley with family and friends. Ellie will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harold (Bobby) Bandeka, her parents, Felix and Helen Coin, her sister Linda, nephew Chris, and her brother Irvin. She is survived by her brothers Al and Ed, and her sisters Agnes, Cyndee, Irma, many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at College View Baptist Church and a private burial will take place at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery.
