Fred Wayne Dixon passed away peacefully on October 3, 2015, at age 82. Fred was the son of John and Ruth Dixon. He was born at home in Virginia. He is survived by his beloved wife Marija; his stepson Peter and his wife Rose; his brother James and his wife Sylvia; his nieces Joanne, Peggy, and Bootsie; his nephew John Henry; and many other cousins and relatives.
Earlier in his life Fred worked for the railroad and then served in the Army during the Korean War. Later Fred earned his Doctor of Pharmacy and Juris Doctor Degrees and worked both as a pharmacist and a lawyer. He always did innovative work and created one of the first automated Patient Drug Information systems. He traveled extensively and during his life had visited almost all of the continents in the world.
Fred was known as a charitable, compassionate, helpful and friendly man. He was always willing to give his advice on how to improve your health or what the best medicine might be for you. He donated extensively to many charities and was always concerned with the welfare of others. Since relocating to Arizona from Michigan in 2008 he had been a volunteer docent at the Musical Instrument Museum, where he had learned more about musical instruments than most of us knew there was to learn.
