James "Jimmy" Lee Griffin III

His sunrise was March 27, 1980 in Phoenix, Arizona at Maryvale Hospital to James Lee Griffin II and Shelia Dian Griffin. He was the youngest born of their three children. James was baptized at First Institutional Baptist Church (FIBC) in Phoenix, Arizona at age 10.

James attended Chandler High School and matriculated to Ppep Tech High School where he graduated. In 1998, he won the Arizona High School State Poetry Contest where his poem was published. He received his Associates of Technology Degree majoring in Electrical Automation Technology from Ranken Technical College in St. Louis, Missouri May 10, 2006. He worked as a licensed commercial electrician for 15 years with Delta Diversified Enterprises Inc. where he joined International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). Later, he went on to work directly for the IBEW Union.

James married Natasha Weatherspoon at the Tempe Center for the Arts in Tempe, Arizona on March 6, 2010. He was a people person and charismatic jokester. He loved the Lord and read his bible daily with dedication and understanding. He was a proud and loving father.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen J. Griffin, grandparents, Theresa L. Jackson, James L. Griffin I and Lillian J. Jordon, aunts Rosalind McHenry, Phyllis Jackson, uncles Cornell Griffin, and Arlando Jackson.

James leaves to cherish his memory a loving family, son James L. Griffin IV, mother Shelia D. Jewell, father James L. Griffin II, step-father Thomas W. Jewell, sister Christine M. Griffin, nephew Christopher L. Griffin, grandfather Harvey C. Jordon, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, loved ones and friends.

A visitation for Jimmy will be held Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
