She was born in Fierro, New Mexico on September 7, 1941. Julia graduated from Cobre High School and received a Bachelors in Spanish and Chemistry from ASU.
She was married to Delbert J. Emmons on September 5, 1964 in Bayard, New Mexico. Julia had a career in higher education in many ways throughout her entire career. She had a passion for helping disadvantaged communities achieve an education.
Julia was survived by daughter, Christina E. Nipko (Johnathon Nipko), her step grandchildren, V.Gabriel Nipko; Zack Nipko, Cheyenne Nipko, Tyler Nipko; Her brother Joeseph Martinez and many nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces and friends.
A memorial service for Julia will be held Friday, August 18, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257.
