Julie Ann Amari Strickland

Julie was born August 3, 1969 to Pat & Barbara Amari of Birmingham, Alabama. She grew up in Sugar Land, Texas for many years before moving to Phoenix, Arizona, and had many lifelong friends from across the country.

She worked as a Sales Agent for America West Airlines and had a lifelong passion for traveling.

After marrying the love of her life, Jimmy Strickland, the couple moved to Alabama to take up country living and farming.

Julie never met a stranger and loved people. She had a passion for caring for others, especially the disabled. She was a proud mother and grandmother and was happiest when spending time with them. She had a "larger than life" personality and at family gatherings would always jokingly claim that she was the "prettiest" and "the family favorite".

Julie is preceded in death by her father, Pat Amari; husband, Jimmy Strickland and nephew, Zach Ellison.

Survived are her sons Anthony Michael Zola of Guntersville, Alabama and Chris (Amanda) Zola of Gilbert, Arizona; mother, Barbara Amari; siblings, Kristin (Roy) Jolin; Angela Amari and Patrick Amari; grandchildren Katelyn Zola, Anna Zola, Geovanni Zola, Alyssa Zola and Christian Zola and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation for Julie will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
