Karen was born in Phoenix, Arizona to Donald Eklund and Carolyn Armistead on February 1, 1964. She lived a life full of creativity, connection and generosity. She began her career as a banker but soon followed her entrepreneurial passions to open the beloved retail shop Wild Woods in Pinetop. Over the years, she poured her talents into many roles from planning events at country clubs, serving in Chambers of Commerce, working in real estate, and most recently once again opening and operating her own business. In everything she did, Karen had a gift for bringing a smile to the faces of those around her and making them feel seen and welcomed.
Her greatest joy was her family. She was the proud mother of four children: Steven, Katherine, Hannah and Sarah. She married Tom Turley in 2022 and with her generous heart embraced his children Thomas, Travis, Tanner, and Tawney as her own. Karen adored her grandchildren, Stella, Olivia and Henrik, who brought endless light to her life.
Karen loved hosting holidays and cooking meals that gathered everyone together. She played card games with her competitive nature and shared wine with her friends. She had an amazing way of turning ordinary moments into cherished memories. Everyone who knew Karen was blessed with her kindness, her humor, and her unshakable love.
She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, generosity, and joy that will continue to live on in her family and all who loved her.
Her family welcomes all who knew and loved her to join them in her celebration of life.
