Our beloved mother and grandmother has gone to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Lila passed away peacefully October 3rd, 2017. She was born August 4th, 1926 in Flint, Michigan to Mabel and Chester Stewart. She graduated from Flint Central High in 1945. Married Richard Byrd in 1948, he preceded her in death in 1997 and son Timothy in 2000. She is survived by son Robert Byrd and daughter Bonnie Arvanitis, grandchildren Jennifer Molock and Christine Arvanitis and great-grandson Caleb Molock. Preceding her death are three sisters and two brothers. Lila's family moved to Arizona in 1964 and she worked at Arizona State University for 20 years. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Scottsdale since 1962. Funeral services to be held at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, Arizona on Tuesday, October 10th, 2017 at 2pm, visitation at 1:30pm. Flowers may be sent to Green Acres or donations to Hospice of the Valley.
