Paul Randall was born November 21, 1970 in Cleveland, Ohio where he spent his preschool and early elementary years. His parents, Cay Randall-May and Barney B. Randall, both natives of Phoenix, Arizona, returned to the Valley of the Sun in 1978. After their divorce and remarriages, Paul lived with his mother and step-father, Judson E. May, and graduated from Alhambra High School.
Paul enjoyed creative problem solving, especially with automobiles and computers. He excelled in biology, physics math, and engineering and wanted to write eventually. He participated in ROTC and enjoyed military history.
He acted out his fascination with ancient warriors by participating in mock battles with the Society for Creative Anachronism. His interest in martial arts centered on Aikido, which influenced his life for many years.
At sixteen, Paul began to work for Arby's and ultimately became a manager. He worked at the restaurant full time for a few years before entering college. He was beginning the last semester of his senior year at Arizona State University in Tempe, majoring in business, when he died. At the time of his death he was working a night-time security job, and planned to start his own security business after graduation. He looked forward to the challenges and independence of being an entepreneur.
Paul is survived by his younger brother, Jason Randall; his fiance, Veronica Pangburn; and a daughter, Abigail Sakari Randall.
