Rick finished his battle with cancer on Saturday October 22, 2016 at his Scottsdale home in the comfort and support of family and friends. He was born in De Kalb, Illinois and moved to Phoenix with his family when he was nine years old. In high school he met the love of his life Bernice Sheridan, whom he married and enjoyed a wonderful life with for over fifty nine years. When he graduated from high school at the age of seventeen he took a job in the field of Orthotics and Prosthetics. This field became his passion and his calling. He eventually owned his business and worked in the field for forty three years. Rick was a family man with four children, seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. In fact, everyone Rick met or knew he treated like family, regardless if you worked for him, with him, or were a friend. He was a loving husband and soul mate, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. His caring and selfless spirit enriched the lives of all that knew him. There will be no service, only a private celebration of life with his intimate family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hospice of The Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014, in Rick’s honor.
Arrangements under the direction of Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery, Scottsdale, AZ.
