February 26, 1946 – July 27, 2025
Robert Morgan Blue, 79, passed away on July 27, 2025, in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was born in Los Angeles, California, and raised in Columbus, Ohio, by his beloved mother, Ellen Blue (née Levi), who emigrated from Germany. He grew up in a tight-knit household alongside his uncle, aunt, and cousin. Robert was named by his father, Dr. Bennett Blue of Los Angeles, who served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Robert relocated from Bexley, Ohio to Tempe, Arizona in 1995.
Robert was deeply proud of his Jewish heritage and faith, which guided his values and influenced his care for others. It grounded his sense of justice, his love of learning, and his commitment to tikkun olam - repairing the world. His beliefs were central to how he lived and to the kind hearted legacy he leaves behind.
A proud graduate of Franklin University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Robert went on to earn a Master of Science in Corrections and Criminology from Xavier University. He was a lifelong learner, always striving to grow and achieve new goals.
Robert was also a steadfast advocate for good governance and productive civic engagement. Deeply involved in local, state, and national politics, he was on a first-name basis with many elected officials in both Ohio and Arizona. Most recently, he served as a Republican Precinct Committeeman for Legislative District 24 in Arizona.
Known to friends and family as Bob, he loved THE Ohio State University, Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks and Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed collecting historic publications, playing golf, tennis and fondly remembered his time spent traveling as a child and swimming in the ocean.
Above all, Robert was a proud father and loving grandfather. He is survived by his daughter Annie (Danny) Perkins, his son Aaron (Adrienne) Blue, and his four cherished grandsons; Ty, Phoenix, Bennett, and Liam. These boys called him Papa Blue and were the light of his life.
