Robert J. Hensley

Robert "Jim" Hensley of Tempe, AZ, passed away suddenly September 18, 2010, from pneumonia, which he contracted as a complication from treatment for pancreatic cancer. He was born to Kenney and Marie Hensley on June 16, 1941 in Billings, MT. Jim is survived by his wife, Rita Smith Hensley; his brothers, Charles (MT), and Al (CA); daughter, Michelle Hill (NM); son, Robert (WA); stepchildren, Julie Riddle (AZ), Sara Maher (MT) and Tony Smith (AZ). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren.

Jim was a decorated veteran of the Vietnam War and a Life Member of the VFW. He was a member of the Mesa VFW Post #1760 and the Chandler American Legion Post #35. At the time of his death, Jim was employed by Securitas at the Microchip plant in Chandler.

Visitation was 11:00 AM Wednesday at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 Nl Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, AZ with services following at 12:00 noon. Interment 2:00 PM, Friday, October 8th at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on Cave Creek Rd., in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to VFW Post #1060 for the Veterans National Children's Home.
