

Simon graduated with a B.S. from Hong Kong Chinese University in Hong Kong. He received three M.A. degrees from:
• Oklahoma City University, Oklahoma City, OK
• Iowa City University, Iowa City, IA
• Dallas Theological Seminary, Dallas, TX
He also received a Doctorate of Theology from Golden Gate Theological Seminary, San Francisco, CA.
He married Christina Lee Tsoi on December 30, 1962 in Hong Kong.
Simon worked in higher education teaching English at Langston University, Langston, OK and Merritt College, Oakland, CA.
In 1974, God called him to full time Christian Ministry as he began his training and education at Dallas Theological Seminary. During this time, he was on staff at the First Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. In 1979, he accepted a position to be senior pastor of the First Chinese Baptist Church in Phoenix, AZ where he pastored for 23 years and retired in 2002.
He held many leadership roles in the Southern Baptist Convention, the AZ Southern Baptist Convention, Chinese Baptist Fellowship of North America and Malaysia Baptist Theological Seminary.
Simon enjoyed tennis, fishing, golf and telling people about Jesus Christ. He was a humble, generous and loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Christina and two proud and grateful sons: Sampson in Dallas, TX and Nathan in Arlington, VA.
