Steve earned his Engineering degree from Iowa State University (ISU). A lifelong musician, he began playing the trumpet at an early age, performing in both his high school and university marching bands. His passion for the "horn" never waned, and he continued to play in various musical groups throughout his life.
In his professional career, Steve was a leader in the tech industry. He served as the World Marketing Director for Motorola’s Microcontroller Division in Austin, Texas, and later as the Strategic Marketing Manager/Director of DSC Marketing for Microchip Technology in Chandler, Arizona.
For the past 22 years, Steve was happily married to his wife, Daphne (Francis) Marsh. Together, they shared a love for music and adventure. Steve was deeply involved with the East Valley Chorale (EVC), where he managed the licensing for numerous Christian music CDs while Daphne sang tenor. He also took great joy in video editing, meticulously documenting their many travels and adventures.
Steve was preceded in death by his first wife, Alyce Jacalyn (Ferrell) Marsh, and his second wife, Grace Lillian (Mazurek) Marsh.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Daphne; his sons, Thomas D. Marsh (Laura Andrea) and Timothy J. Marsh; his granddaughter, Laura Elena; and his stepdaughters, Pam Foster (Chris) and Robyn O’Kane. He also leaves behind two sisters, Barbara Jacobsen and Susan Frazier (David).
Steve had a generous spirit and will be missed by all who knew him. At his request, no immediate services are planned. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Best Friends Animal Society, a national organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America's shelters.
