Tillie M. Gonzales

Otilia “Tillie” M. Gonzales went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on February 25, 2017. She was born on August 24, 1931 in Phoenix, AZ. As a child she attended Lowell Grade School. On November 9, 1947 she married Jose D. Gonzales in Florence, AZ , and they proceeded to weave an amazing tapestry of family and life’s experiences.

Tillie was loved by all her family and friends because she gave love to everyone without reservation. She loved to play scrabble and solve crossword puzzles. She loved to entertain and cook delicious meals for everyone at a moment’s notice. Amid life’s struggles, she was very thankful for all her blessings. She thanked God everyday for all her family and prayed that God would bless each and every one, from her children to her great-great grandchildren. She was devoutly dedicated to our Lord Jesus Christ and is now rejoicing in His presence along with her husband Jose and their infant son Mark and all her relatives and friends who entered into God’s glory before her.

Tillie is preceded in death by her husband Jose, son Mark, sister Maria, and brothers Alfonso, Manuel and Francisco. She is survived by her brothers Joe and Ruben, sisters Irene Godinez and Rosa Aguirre. She is also survived by her 10 children Joe (Lorraine), Robert, David (Becky), Pedro (Juanita), Danny (Carmen), Dianna (Rob), Alfonso (Cindy), Michael, Paul, and Elizabeth (Pete); 34 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and a special niece, Virginia Chavez. Thank you Mom for loving us all and showing us how to raise a God-loving family .

Services will be held Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Resthaven Cemetery, 4310 E. Southern, Phoenix, AZ. Visitation will be at 9:00 am to 10:00 am, Service at 10:00 am with burial immediately following. Donations to St. Jude Hospital are appreciated in lieu of flowers.
