She was born April 11, 1956 in Deadwood South Dakota to Clarence, and Dorothy (Mattson) Korte. She married Daniel Martin in 1991, he survives. Valerie was a business manager for 20 years at Berkeley Honda Auto Center in Berkeley, California, only recently retiring in October, 2017. Upon retiring Valerie and Daniel relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona.
She is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Martin of Scottsdale, Arizona; her daughter, Monica Souza of Antioch, California; One Brother, James Karte of Fremont, California; One sister, Catherine Ehinger of Antioch, California.
