Amir Soltanian
March 21, 1955 – June 1, 2015
My dad was born on March 21, 1955. He arrived in America in 1978. He left his home, friends, and family to study to become an engineer. Amir finished Portland State University in June of 1987. Later that year, in September, Boeing hired him. Baba was a determined man. He fought and won most battles cancer threw his way for 9 long years. Once he started something, he almost never gave up. He absolutely loved science and mathematics. Even when he was in the hospital, he asked how things happened, how they could be cured, and what different medicines were and what they did. At home, whenever he was able, he was on his laptop reading assorted articles. He read things such as the creation of earth, plants and herbal medicines and histories of civilizations. My Dad was probably the strongest man many of us knew. Even so, he loved his friends and family to the maximum. He was a loving father, husband, and brother. Baba was a simple, humble man, yet he loved having fun with his friends and family. Unlike some people, he never talked behind a friend’s back. If it was brought up, he would dismiss the subject immediately. Because of these reasons, everybody admired him greatly. In his last moments, he struggled and fought, just to say his last goodbyes. He was by far, a magnificent husband and father. He loved his family so much, its difficult to imagine. Thank you Baba, for the love and knowledge you passed on to us all.
