Andy Huong Pham, age 57, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, at home in Kenmore, WA, surrounded by family and friends, after an almost four-year battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He faced illness with steadiness and grace, and he kept a ready smile even while fighting the disease. Born in Gia Kiệm, Đồng Nai, Việt Nam, to a large family, he learned early the strength of kinship and the power of showing up for one another. At the age of 14, he bravely fled the country, leaving his family and the only home he knew in search of a better life. He lived in a refugee camp in Pulau Galang, Indonesia, where resourcefulness and community were not slogans but the daily tools of survival. He carried those tools for the rest of his life: gratitude, patience, and a practice of hospitality that turned strangers into guests and guests into friends. He graduated from K-State, where he met the love of his life, Hà. Together they built a partnership rooted in curiosity and care, raising Jackson and Apollo, and nurturing a wide circle of friends. He loved adventure and travel and was happiest planning the next trip with his family. At home, he was a generous host who loved to entertain and feed friends and family; guests often remember how he loved to make coffee for his guests—an everyday ritual that made people feel welcomed and seen. He also loved his cars, finding joy in the hum of a well-tuned engine and the freedom of an open road. Surrounded by the people he loved, he got to celebrate his last birthday with good friends and family. The candles were fewer than the wishes, and the wishes were simple: more time together, more ordinary days.
Andy is survived by his spouse, Ta Thì Ngân Hà; children Apollo Pham (Spencer Kyle) and Jackson Mình Phạm; siblings Phạm Xuân Hòa, Phạm Xuân Hiền, Phạm Huy Hoàng, Phạm Xuân Hiển, Phạm Xuân Hải, Phạm Xuân Hương, and Phạm Xuân Huấn; and wide circle of cousins, nieces, nephews, and chosen family that will miss his kindness, curiosity, and steady presence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phạm Xuân Hinh (father) and Đinh Thị Vẻ (mother). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fred Hutch (attn: Dr. Mary Elizabeth Percival). His legacy lives in the meals shared, the journeys taken, and the friendships he tended with care.
A funeral service for Andy will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Acacia Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 14951 Bothell Way NE, Seattle, WA 98155.
