Ciera Leanne Crone

Ciera Leanne Crone, age 24, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of October 20, 2024. Throughout her life, she brought joy and warmth to those who knew her. With her infectious smile, playful sense of humor, and unconditional love for her family and friends, Ciera touched our lives with her kindness and compassion.

Ciera attended St. Francis of Assisi School in her hometown of Burien, Washington from kindergarten through eighth grade and graduated from Mount Rainier High School. As a dedicated student-athlete, she excelled in numerous sports with a particular passion for tennis and volleyball. Her competitive nature and commitment to her teams were a testament to her character.

Ciera went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Washington. Throughout her college years, she worked as an Extended Day Program Supervisor at St. Francis of Assisi School, where her youthful spirit fostered a safe and caring environment for all students. Following graduation, she transitioned into the hospitality industry, beginning her journey at the Airport Marriott Hotel in SeaTac and most recently taking on a new position at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Seattle. She was genuine and approached her interactions with empathy and professionalism. She valued her work and the connections she made along the way.

Ciera treasured her family and friends immensely, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. She enjoyed the thrill of a good scary movie and loved late-night drives through the city, where the beats of her favorite rap and hip-hop artists accompanied her adventures. Brave and self-assured, she radiated compassion and selflessness, never hesitating to stand up and provide unwavering support and generosity to others. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Ciera is survived by her parents Larry and Tracie Crone; brother Milan Crone; grandmother Donna Crone; uncle Kevin Crone; grandmother Carol Vanderveer; aunt Carrie Vanderveer; uncle Steven Vanderveer; and cousins Taylor and Trista Vanderveer.

A funeral service honoring Ciera will be held on November 15th, 2024 at 11:00am - St. Francis of Assisi Church (15226 21st Ave SW Burien, WA 98166).
