Daniel Rabinowitz Fisher, born in Seattle, Washington on November 25, 1959, passed away in the early hours of May 5, 2025. Beloved son of Mario Rabinowitz and the late Jenee Fisher, survived by his loving sons Andrew and Owen (Kayla Blevins) Fisher and their mother Frances Fisher, cherished brother of the late Benjamin Rabinowitz, and loving cousin and nephew to Spence (Renata) Patterson and the late Deborah Patterson.
Raised by his loving mother Jenee, Dan grew up alongside his brother Ben in northeast Seattle where from an early age it became clear that he was going to walk to the beat of his own drum. A lifelong seeker of knowledge, Dan pursued truth wherever it led him. He held an undergraduate degree from Reed College in Oregon, a Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law, an MBA from the Foster School of Business, and a PhD in Philosophy from the UW College of Arts and Sciences. His academic achievements were not only numerous but rooted in a deep concern for the ethical structures that guide societies. Dan remained closely connected to his alma mater throughout his life, giving back in many ways, including with the establishment of an endowment in memory of his brother, dedicated to advancing scholarship in medical and environmental ethics.
A true renaissance man, Dan’s boundless curiosity took him across disciplines and walks of life. He engaged with global leaders, embarked on unique business ventures, recorded extensive and eclectic works of music, and meticulously documented the Fisher family history. Yet for all of his accomplishments and adventures, Dan’s true gift was his willing friendship to others and his devotion to the safety and happiness of his family. His spirit endures in the countless lives he touched — through wisdom, humor, generosity, and his unwillingness to be anybody but himself.
