Born on May 4, 1953, in Washington, Dee spent her life rooted in the Pacific Northwest. She built a fulfilling career as an insurance agent, dedicating many years to her profession before retiring. Her work ethic and commitment were evident throughout her career, and retirement allowed her to focus on the people and passions that brought her the most joy.
Dee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Bates, and her sister Elizabeth. After Jack’s passing, she found comfort and companionship living with her son Christopher and his wife Karrie Walton. Surrounded by family, Dee embraced this chapter of life with warmth and grace.
She is lovingly remembered by her sons: Christopher Walton and his wife Karrie, along with their children Kaydence, Peyton, and Khloe; and Jason Walton and his wife Theresa, with their children Anna, Jacob, Joshua, and Abigail. Dee also leaves behind her brother Gerald and his wife Ellen; and her twin sister Darlene and husband Preston.
Family was at the heart of everything Dee did. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren—whether walking hand-in-hand collecting rocks that caught her eye or cheering them on at school events. Her stories from years past were shared generously during quiet moments at home or strolls through the neighborhood.
A woman of simple joys and unique treasures, Dee had a fondness for antique shops where she delighted in discovering vintage egg beaters, bowls, or whimsical pig figurines. These small finds brought big smiles—not just to Dee but to those who knew how much they meant to her.
Her warm spirit and light-hearted nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She had an innate ability to make others feel cared for—always ensuring those around her were looked after with love.
May the memory of Dolores “Dee” Bates bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
