Doris Ann Ferry

She grew up in the Grand Forks ND area along with her eight siblings, Raymond, Bernard, Vernon, Denny, Leonard, John, Margaret, and Jean. Doris met and married James Ferry in February 1950. They moved to Seattle WA in 1963. She was a patient and loving mother raising 14 children (6 boys and 8 girls). She co-owned and operated Western Hardwood Flooring with husband James for 25 years before retiring.

Doris had a wonderful sense of humor and never had harsh words toward anyone. She enjoyed gardening, painting, and traveling. Her travels took her to Hawaii, Alaska, China, France, England, cruising to Italy, Egypt, Greece, Turkey, Spain, and Portugal. She enjoyed her hot air balloon ride at the age of 83.

She leaves behind her husband James of 72 years; her children: Richard, Diane (Jim) Renner; Susan (Ed) Español; Kathy (Thomas) Calderwood; Nancy (Steve) Reid; Julie (Ben) Horn; Joan; Scott; Ann (Nathan) Price; Debbie; and Mike (Cheryl); 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by three sons, Donald, James, and Patrick.

A funeral service for Doris will be held Monday, July 11, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Acacia Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 14951 Bothell Way NE, Seattle, WA 98155.
