

Earl was born February 20,1937 in Seattle, WA to Earle and Elsie Woodford. He was named after his father and went by Sonny to his family and friends as he grew up. ln October of 1938 his sister, Judy was born. The family lived on Capitol Hill before moving to North City. They lived in his grandparents "chicken House", which had been remodeled into a home, and later moved to Lake Forest Park into a house built by his father out of wood from the Boeing Airplane Company. He attended Lake Forest Park Elementary, Jane Addams Junior High and Roosevelt High School. (Shoreline school district at that time had no high school).
September 1, 1954 he enlisted in the Washington National Guard and was honorably discharged October 2, 1960. He lived on his boat for a short time after leaving the Guard, and after selling the boat, he moved into a trailer park in Seattle. After leaving the National Guard he went to work for the City of Seattle working for the Seattle Park Department and retired from there.
On the death of his father he moved to Whidbey lsland to help out his mother. He loved living on Whidbey lsland and soon no longer wanted to come to Seattle except to visit family. He joined the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Langley, WA and became their custodian. He enjoyed working there for many
years, making many friends among the parishioners, until his health became a problem. After several bouts in the hospital and some surgeries he retired as he could no longer do the work required. This was a sad time for him as he so enjoyed being at the church every day and talking to everyone. ln his retirement he enjoyed watching many movies he had collected in his lifetime. He was an avid fan of John Wayne and had many of his movies, Earl also enjoyed MASH. He loved western clothing, cowboy boots and had a favorite cowboy hat.
He welcomed his friend Diane Davis into his home about 10 years ago and had many good times doing things with her and friends. Diane cared for him through all his medical problems.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and uncles and aunts.
He is survived by his sister, Judy - nieces Kim Strand McClintock, Karen Barber (Randy), and nephew Kris Strand (Leslie), grand nephews - Matthew McClintock (Kelsey), Eric McClintock (Marissa), Jeff McClintock, Ryan Barber, grand niece Megan Barber, great grand niece - Audrey McClintock and great grand nephew
Rylan McClintock.
He will be missed by his family and many friends on Whidbey Island.
