

Eleanor Marie Payne, 85, passed away peacefully in Tacoma, Washington on July 2, 2017. She was born April 12, 1932, in Rich Hill, Missouri to loving parents Thomas and Opal Nation. She was full of life, love and energy. She had so much energy that her grown kids and even her grand-kids at times, could not keep up with her. A wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, wife and best friend to many, she was loving, kind and accepting of people just as they were. Eleanor loved to have lively political discussions and had very strong opinions about many things. She did so much for others, loved unconditionally, and was loved by so many, she will be missed every day.
Hobbies: Reading Recipes, Cooking, Thrift Store Shopping (treasure hunting), Antiquing, Collecting Christmas decorations (particularly snowmen), collecting dishes and was about to take up metal detecting.
Interests: Part of the Sweet Adeline singing group, long time member of the Ladies of the Elks, helping others, doing things with the kids in the family, gardening, travel, going on walks with her dogs.
Accomplishments: Attended Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Washington, earned her GED, raised 5 children, worked on the Stealth Bomber for Boeing, was a member of Ladies of the Elks in Tacoma for many years and traveled to Vietnam and Thailand at 82 yrs. of age.
She is preceded in death by her Parents Thomas and Opal Nation; former Husband Dale Browning; Husband Ralph Moe; Brothers Marion, Thomas, Ernest, and Jimmy; Sisters Shirley Hinckley and Alta Nation; Daughter Diana Lee and Step-son Chip; and two Grandchildren Teri Lynn Dawson and Jason Allen Bathurst.
She leaves behind to celebrate her life her husband Ed, Sisters Barb (Roy) Arney, Linda (Fred) Best, Sisters-in-law Margie, Shirley and Arlene Nation; brother William “Bill” (Marcia) Nation; daughters Kim (Jon) Heinrich, Denise (Dennis) Cobb, Marcella Monahan, Tracey Wescott, Jodi (Michael) Trevino, step-children Wendy (Pete), Jeff (Loy) and David (Michelle) Payne; 21 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren; many cousins as well as nieces and nephews.
