Born in Sioux City, Iowa, to Dale and Cecelia (Tholl) Wright; they moved to Seattle in 1941 seeking better opportunities and climate. Working in the Seattle ship yards during WWII, she met and married Everett. They had 3 daughters; Linda Peri (Vic), Julie Tonning (Earl Edwards) and Janis Greene (Bob). Her 6 grandchildren; Cherie, Jim, Rosalynn, Aaron, Sanja and Elliott, and 7 great grandchildren, brought her great joy. Betty loved being a homemaker embracing it with energy and zest. The family took trips to the WA coast razor clamming, Birch Bay, Sun Lakes and to Lummi Island visiting her parents. Her legacy is truly rising up to any challenge life brought her way, accepting it with courage and class while holding the family together. Betty loved her 20 years at Shorecrest HS as the assistant principal's secretary. Her retirement included travel to Europe, numerous bridge groups, mall walking, and morning exercise at the Lynnwood Rec Center. She attended her grandchildren's activities, volunteered at church, and was a proud member of Daughters of the American Revolution. Betty touched everyone she met and was admired for her strength and vibrancy. Betty passed away at Overlake Hospital after her cancer diagnosis. Thank you to Dr. Donald Stepan, Dr. Martha Spieker, her nurse Leanne C. (our gift from God), and all the staff on the 5th floor south. Betty is also survived by her brother Dale Wright, niece Mary Fenske, and was preceded in death by her sister Mary Ann Law.
