Elizabeth Rose Yarington

May 11, 1955 ~ February 11, 2023

Elizabeth Rose Yarington passed away on February 11, 2023, at the age of 67. Liz, as many of her friends call her, was born to Mary Frances and E.R. Dick Yarington in Seattle, Washington, on May 11th, 1955. She attended Holy Family, Kennedy, and Evergreen High School. She was an animal lover who was fun, warm, sharp, caring, and educated in the sciences. Her passion for science, selfless nature, and hard work led her to earn two degrees: a BS in Microbiology at Washington State University and a BS in Animal Science and Public Health at Oregon State University.

Liz was a devoted wife to Patrick Tomaszewski, whom she met when she was sixteen. She married in 1980 and was an unconditionally loving mother to Bridgid and Sean. Liz loved her horse Annie, bravely skydived, traveled the world, explored nature with her husband on big hikes, enjoyed music, and took many trips to the ocean with family and friends. She volunteered and generously gave her time to her kids, Boy Scouts, the health room at East Hill Elementary, and the PTA at Sawyer Woods Elementary. Liz always showed up for her family and friends. She was the best wife, mom, friend, and pet owner ever!

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Seattle, with Father Jose M. Alvarez, officiating. 9641 20th Ave SW Seattle, WA 98106.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband Patrick, children Sean and Bridgid, and her son-in-law Aryaveer. She will be greatly missed by her best friends, Maureen, Jerry, Carol, Cher, and Margaret. Liz is also survived by: her sister Mary (Marty) McCune; cousins Kathryn, Martha, Mary, Theresa, and Richard; nephews and nieces Alek, Gillian, Peter, Emma, Christina, Patricia, Alex, Sophia, and Mark; sisters-in-law Barbara and Angela; Godchildren Wendy, Ryan, Jesse, Dillon, and Keely; and, family friends in Alaska.

She was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
