Filipinas Maza Halili

On July 6, 2023, Filipinas ‘Fely’ Maza Halili took her last breath at Holy Trinity Medical Center in Arayat Pampanga Philippines.

Filipinas was born on January 26,1940 to Alejandro and Trinidad Maza in Nueva Vizcaya Philippines. She was the 6th child of 7 children. She graduated from Far Eastern University in Manila with a Bachelor’s of Science in Medical Technologist. She met the love of her life, Amando Cunanan Halili. They married on June 6, 1971, and just celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary one month before she died. Together, Amando and Filipinas have raised 7 children: Florante/Danny (Mina), JulieAnn, Arlene/May (Max), Froilan/Olan (Mildred), Alma/Jane (Adonis), Francis/Dec (Rowena), and Amphidida/Baby (Howie). Their grandchildren are Jacob, Elijah, Maille, Maegan, Carlos, Jordan, Armani, Riley, Ruiz, Ryan, Aubrianna, and Helayna.

Filipinas’ greatest dream was to migrate to the US. With the help of her mother and sisters, she was able to bring her entire family to the US.

She was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease two years ago. Too late for a kidney transplant and dialysis was not her choice of remedy but to change her diet and live life to the fullest. She decided to stay in the Philippines the last few months of her life where she enjoyed all her hobbies and be in her happy place.

Her body is now enroute to Seattle.

Funeral service and mass are yet to be scheduled.
