Keith KaKui Wong was born in Toison, Guangdong, China, on May 18, 1956, and passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2026, at the age of 69. He spent his early years in Hong Kong and immigrated to the Washington, DC area with his family when he was nine. Following the death of his father when he was fifteen, Keith spent many years supporting his mother and younger siblings.
After graduating from Virginia Tech, Keith enjoyed a distinguished career as a structural and project engineer serving in the Federal Highway Administration within the Department of Transportation. He took pride in contributing to the maintenance and management of the nation's vast network of highways and bridges. Eventually, Keith took a job promotion and moved to the Pacific Northwest, where he met his beloved wife, Molly Tse.
Meeting Molly extraordinarily changed Keith’s life. His happiest years were spent as a husband and stepparent, forming loving relationships with his stepchildren, Frederick and Jenny, Jenny’s husband Eliot, and their children Aurelia and Thalassa. Keith was also a beloved brother and is survived by his siblings and their spouses: Daryl (and Giusi), Sherry (and Gordon), Julie (and Dan), Joanna, and Michael (and Kimberly). He was a proud uncle to a large contingent of nieces and nephews. They are in age order: Ella, Cassie, Perry, Emily, Kyle, Abigail, Megan, Jessica, Bethany, Rachel, Joe, Stephanie, Noah, Nathaniel, Rebecca, Charissa, and Isabel. He was a great uncle to eight: Cora, Kaia, Max, Brielle, Elaine, Vivian, Claire, and Ada.
Keith valued spending time with family, especially enjoying lively conversations and boisterous family meals, with his particular favorite foods being Dim Sum and Cantonese BBQ. He also traveled extensively with Molly, visiting Europe and various countries in Asia. When not traveling, he served as a deacon in his church and considered his faith in Jesus to be his greatest gift in this life, followed by his joy-filled marriage to Molly, and close relationships with his family. Keith’s generosity, tenacity, and loyalty touched all who knew him and left a lasting impact. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
A service honoring Keith KaKui Wong’s life will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 6701 30th Ave SW, Seattle, Washington.
