

Leanne passed away on Saturday, Nov. 1st, 2014, after a 9 year battle with breast cancer. She was born in Seattle, WA, to Alice and Gunnar Korsgaard on July 10, 1939. Her mother's parents and her father were born in Denmark and during Leanne's lifetime she was blessed to make 10 trips to visit her relatives there.
She attended the Highline Schools and met her husband to be when she was in the 9th grade and playing violin in the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra. They married in 1961 after graduating from Washington State University. She taught 1st and 3rd grades in Highline S.D., WA, Bethel S.D., OR, and Kent, WA. After their three children were in school she returned to the Kent School District as a Library Assistant at Soos Creek Elementary.
Her favorite activities were reading and collecting children's literature, gardening, quilting, flower arranging, writing encouraging notes and studying the Bible. She is survived by her husband David, their children, Karl (Lorraine), Karen Harkness, and Trina Peters (Perry). She was blessed to have four grandchildren: Sarah and Christina Harkness, Kelson and Ryan Peters.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 22nd, at 2 PM, at First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Kent.
