Given the nickname “Brad” when he first enlisted in the Air Force and there was already another Bradley on the base.
Leo “Brad” Vincent Bradley passed away peacefully on September 20th, 2025, at his West Seattle home at the age of 93. He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Janet Bradley (Faunce), his son Eric Bradley (Lori) and daughter Jolene Bradley, his and Janet’s sons John Bradley (Wendy), Sean Bradley (Sarah), grandchildren John C Bradley (Allyssa), Steven Bradley (Danielle), Sarah Fann (Brendan), Benjamin Bradley, Maxwell Staples (Amber), and his great-grandchildren Nathan, Westley, Kieran, Chloe and Aiden.
Brad was born November 7th, 1931, in Bismarck, North Dakota to Leo and Opal Bradley. With his father in the army, they lived on several military bases on the west coast throughout his childhood. He was given the name Leo Vincent Patrick Michael Fagan Bradley at baptism and attended multiple Catholic schools. Later in life he often spoke fondly of his time serving as an altar boy and attending Latin mass. Brad enlisted in the Air Force serving in the Technical Training Squadron at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas in 1949, where he served for 4 years.
Brad had two children, Eric and Jolene, from his first marriage. He married Janet in 1969 and became a loving father to Janet’s son John. Soon after, Janet and Brad’s son Sean was born into the family..
Brad had various jobs including working at Sears, Weisfield Jewelers, and Boeing before working at General Electric. At one time he aspired to become a teacher and graduated from Seattle University in 1960.
Among his favorite pastimes, Brad enjoyed watching sports including basketball, football, baseball and golf. He loved listening to music and dancing. He and Janet were part of the Des Moines Mr. & Mrs. Dance Club for many years. He loved reading books, taking sailing lessons, going out to dinner to Dukes, Palisades, Anthony’s and Azteca.
Brad especially loved family birthdays, holidays and events, laughing and having a good time. He never missed a chance to make a joke or tease someone about something. He and Janet loved to travel and took many vacations to Hawaii, Europe, and even a cruise to Mexico.
Brad will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
