Margaret "Janie" Jane Gallaher

Janie Gallaher passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, in Kenmore, Washington, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on December 22, 1948, in Yakima, Washington, to Bill and Lois (Hardison) Bayle.

Janie married Rich Gallaher on September 7, 1968. During their 57 years together they grew into true soulmates. Their marriage was filled with love, laughter, and a deep sense of togetherness; a partnership built on commitment, care, and mutual respect throughout their lives.

She was a loving and supportive mother to Jason Gallaher, Leslie Gallaher, and Jess Williams, and a proud grandmother to Emma Gallaher, Sarah Gallaher, and Kat GoldBurn. She is also survived by her sister Katie DeSanto and daughter-in-law Katie Gallaher. She was preceded in death by her son Jason Gallaher, parents Bill and Lois Bayle, brothers Bill Bayle Jr. and Jim Bayle, sister-in-law Sue Gallaher, and niece Tracy Bayle.

Janie dedicated her career to vocational education, providing adults with the skills, confidence, and encouragement to build successful, independent lives. She was a natural teacher, patient, compassionate, and endlessly supportive. She always believed in the potential of others.

Janie’s warmth and creativity touched every part of her life. She was an amazing cook and baker, loved sewing and art, and approached every project with care and imagination. But above all, her greatest joy and passion was her family. Nothing made her happier than spending time with those she loved, creating memories, sharing laughter, and filling her home with comfort and connection.

She was also a wonderful mother, her children’s biggest cheerleader, always supportive and nurturing, guiding them with care and encouragement. She was the greatest of grandmas, dedicating many years to babysitting, known for her legendary hugs and her ability to fix anything, whether it was a broken toy, a tough day, or a heavy heart.

Despite facing numerous health challenges over the past 13 years, Janie continued to live each day with joy, love, and a profound sense of purpose. She remained a source of comfort and laughter for her family, inspiring those around her with her strength, warmth, and unwavering spirit. Her life was a testament to the power of love and resilience, and her presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on December 6th at the Trail Walk Condo Clubhouse-7711 NE 175th Street, Kenmore, WA 98028. We will allow for time and encourage those attending to share stories and memories.
