

Marjorie K. Zachow passed away on August 4, 2014. Born on November 22, 1923, to University of Washington Professor Charles J and Alice G Miller, Marjorie grew up in Seattle with her younger brother and sister. After graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Music, Marjorie married, James Franklin Zachow on June 5, 1946. The Zachows raised their two daughters, Cynthia and Laurie, in the Seattle area. In later years, they began splitting their time between Seattle and Surprise, AZ. After James’ passing in 2003, Marjorie moved to their home in Surprise full time.
While in Arizona, the Zachows attended Happy Trails Christian Fellowship Church and were very active, participating in square dancing and belonging to the tennis club. Marjorie was also a very active swimmer and volunteered in the local eatery, the “Chuck Wagon”. An avid reader, Marjorie also loved to travel. She saw much of the world, including much of the US, Australia, Europe and the Panama Canal. Her last trip was to visit her two daughters and their families, and she was able to meet her new great-granddaughter during the last weeks of her life.
Marjorie is survived by daughters Cynthia Snook and Laurie Copsey, granddaughter Angela Knutson, grandsons James Copsey and Andrew Copsey, great-granddaughter Elliana Knutson, son-in-law Quinton Snook and grandson-in-law Richard Knutson. She will be missed.
