I have fond memories of Nancy. I spent a lot of time at Nancy and Janice's parents house when I was a student at the University of Washington. Many great meals and visiting. My sympathy to Janice and family. Joy Ramey

I met Nancy’s sister, Janice, in our sophomore year at Lincoln high school in gym class.  We both had younger sisters named Nancy who were the same age.  Janice and I became good friends and I got to know Nancy better over the years as she was a big part of our continued friendship.  As my Navy family moved around the country, we were fortunate that Nancy had the opportunity to visit us at several of our duty stations where we would nurture our friendship and she could have new experiences.  In later years as we lived a country apart, we especially looked forward to receiving her special handmade calligraphy calendar each year – treasures that will keep her in our hearts and minds forever.  My deepest sympathy and condolences to my dear friend Janice who is a superstar sister and caregiver for Nancy,  and to family and friends.

I grew up on Capitol Hill and attended school with Nancy from Seward through Lincoln so there are many memories of us playing at recess and occasionally on the weekends along with Valerie Carter.

After High School graduation, we lost touch for several years then I ran into Nancy at Sea-Tac airport.  Even though she was working, she would always take a moment to greet me with her wonderful smile and say hi.  I think it is that big smile that I will remember most about her.

I knew Nancy from Lincoln High School.  She was in some of my classes over the years and was always such a nice person.  In the last few years, Nancy and her sister Janice would come to the Lincoln, Class of '66 lunches.  By that time Nancy had had a stroke and needed to be in a wheelchair, but this did not stop her from coming to as many of the lunches as she and Janice could attend.  Though she struggled to speak, her happiness to be with old Lincoln friends was obvious from the smile on her face.   We will all miss her so much.

Calligraphy classes and meetings always felt more complete when the Janice-Nancy team was there. I will miss seeing Nancy sitting next to her sister but I know that I will feel her quiet presence. Be gentle with yourself, dear Janice, with your great loss. You were an incredible caretaker to the angel now watching over you.
