She is survived by her husband Gary Olson of Brier, daughter Jennifer Crow (Michael) of Queen Anne, son Nicholas Olson (Gina) of Kenmore, and two beautiful grandchildren, Eleanor Olson and Kaitlyn Crow.
Things moved fast at the end, and she worried that she may not have made the most of her time. But those who loved her know that she did – she was up with the sun nearly every day, and always with a hundred projects on the go, from gardening to restoring furniture and everything in between. She never made it to Greece, but crossed Osaka, Prague, Lisbon, and most of Italy off her list, along with every town, large or small, along the west coast.
She lived by the wisdom of the folktale: never wish for more than you need; always treat strangers with respect, for you never know when they might be gods in disguise; and let your curiosity guide you because there are hidden treasures everywhere. (Oftentimes, she was the one that hid them.) She never met a longshot she was unwilling to bet on, and never came across a key she wasn’t willing to carry forever, just in case.
She taught us a thousand things along the way, but leaves us with this most of all: the world is full of magic, and the only way to live is to let every beautiful thing take your breath away for as long as it lasts.
