A graveside inurnment for William will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 at 2:00 PM.
William (Bill) Maxted Glazier was born on February 27, 1938 to Watt Jerome Glazier and Frances Mary Glazier in North Bend, Washington. He was a twin of John Jerome Glazier who passed away on October 29, 2012. Also born to the family 6 years earlier was his sister Mara Jean Glazier who passed away on June 20, 1976.
The whole family was very involved in the riding club in the Valley. He loved his Appaloosa horse named “Checkers" and spent many hours riding. He enjoyed playing sports in school, graduated from Mt Si High School and went on to go to college and focused on business classes. After his schooling he joined the Army with his close friend Derrell Miller and was sent to Ethiopia and served for 4 years on a secret mission and he never shared any details about his adventures.
When he returned from the Military he joined his family in the family business in North Bend, Glazier's Department Store. The family moved to North Bend in 1908 and established at that time the only Dry Goods and Mercantile store in the small town.
Bill loved working with the people in town and running the business. After retirement, he opened an antique mall in North Bend and he helped Janet, the love of his life, with her business installing curtains for her clients. Bill met Janet Gregory in high school and they were together until Janet passed away in 2023. They both really enjoyed dancing together.
Bill had many good qualities... he loved to connect to people in the community and sit and talk and he was a deeply caring person that hated to see suffering.
We loved him greatly and He will be greatly missed!
TAPS -
Day is done, Gone the sun, From the hills, From the lake, From the skies.
All is well, Safely rest, God is nigh.
Go to sleep, Peaceful sleep, May the soldier Or sailor, God keep.
On the land Or the deep, Safe in sleep.
Love, good night, Must thou go, When the day, And the night Need thee so?
All is well. Speedeth all To their rest.
Fades the light, And afar Goeth day, And the stars Shineth bright,
Fare thee well, Day has gone, Night is on.
Thanks and praise, For our days. 'Neath the sun, 'Neath the stars, 'Neath the sky,
As we go, This we know, God is nigh.
