Craig N. Mayer Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 10, 2026, at the age of 85. Craig was born on September 21, 1940, in Teaneck, NJ to the late Nicholas P. Mayer and Mildred E. (Sturgis) Mayer where he lived before moving to Secaucus about 60 years ago. Craig was a Truck Mechanic for 33 years for Red Star Express in Newark NJ before retiring in 2002 and was a member of the International Association of Mechanics and Aerospace Workers Union local #447.
Craig was the loving husband of the late Grace (Griglio) Mayer who passed away in 1990; the Cherished father of Craig N. Mayer Jr. and his wife Denise, Anne Marie Mayer, and Nicholas Mayer and his wife Linda; the devoted grandfather of Sean, Jake, Samantha, Katie, Zachary, Matthew, Cassie, and Liliana; Brother of the late Lyle Mayer, the late Barrett Mayer, the late Audrey Heid, and the late Beverly Harms, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A Visitation will be held for Craig at Mack Memorial Home, 1245 Paterson Plank Road, Secaucus, on Sunday March 15th from 2 to 6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered the next morning on Monday March 16th at 9:30am at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 1219 Paterson Plank Rd, Secaucus, NJ followed by his burial at Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Ave, Jersey City, NJ.
